We’ve cruised a lot on Holland America & have tried 4 other lines. To put it in perspective, Princess hits the bottom ranking. Had a great cruise consultant & the app seemed promising. Originally booked for May to Alaska, but once in Seattle, they offered us an upgrade to rebook. Reimbursement for airfare changes was to be awarded in 4-6 weeks….called at 8 weeks & was told that they were working on it. It’s now 15 weeks & we seem to be lost in the system. While on the ship, it was always the system at fault. Out formal night dinner reservation for 2 (made weeks in advance) was lost even though it was still on our phone. Speaking of formal night…we were seated next to a large extended family dressed in shorts, tank tops & sandals….is the system responsible for overlooking the dress code?

It was comforting that all of the crew worn face masks except for an officer in the aft dining room. Why should he be exempt? This same person worked so hard at looking like he was hard at work. He was offensive & (sorry) I can’t quit obsessing over him. HE ruined the entire trip.

Which leads me to criticize the food. Limiting menu, uninspiring food, no ‘real’ ice cream, you can only acquire cookies by room service & they don’t have popcorn for movies under the stars.
