Sail Date: Jul 2022
This was lunch on day 2 of the journey. There was no food left with the third bus load of passengers from the Viking Gymir arrived.
This is how the Viking Gymir passenger were expected to find their luggage each evening.
Daily travel accommodations for the passengers of the Viking Gymir. Passengers spent 2-5 hour traveling by bus and hours more sitting and waiting for all passengers to arrive.

My husband and I selected this cruise to see the Rhine again but from the water this time. This was our 30th anniversary and we wanted to return to the Rhine as we were last there 26 years earlier, but were not able to cruise on the Rhine at that time. We were looking forward to relaxing in comfort while traveling from port to port. Instead the we were forced to endure a poorly planned bus trip. We never got to sail on a Viking boat as a lithium battery on the Viking Gymir exploded during the welcome and safety meeting. Viking had no contingency plan. Instead of a cruise we were put on buses and treated like cattle. Most passengers had no money, identification or clothing other than the clothes on their back for the first 2 days as all of our belongings were on the Viking Gymir. Each day we spent 3-5 hours on buses to see 1-2 hours of attractions. We were not allowed to order food for most lunches and dinner but instead were all given the same thing (usually pork and potatoes). We spent hours on the bus but were never provided with any snacks, beverages or entertainment while we sat uncomfortably for hours on end. Each day we had to pack and unpack and place our luggage in the hall or lobby by 7:00am. This was the worst vacation I have ever taken.

Cabin Review

I only saw my cabin for 10 minutes while I unpacked. It looked lovely and I would have enjoyed staying here, but instead I spent my days sitting on a bus.
