Sail Date: Jul 2022
Cabin: Verandah Stateroom

We booked this cruise on board in December 2019 just before COVID hit. Were looking forward to St. Petersburg which was dropped due to the war and overnights were added near the end of the cruise.

Service aboard was way above excellent. Food was back up to pre covid levels. OLife Excursions were good to excellent.

Because this cruise was low % of passengers, we noticed the upgrade of OLife to Ultimate OLife and exercised our right to the O on board booking guarantee which was worth about $1200 of unexpected extras.

Cabin Review

Verandah Stateroom

This was our fourth O cruise. We have had 2 Balconies, one inside, and one Concierge. The Balconies and Concierge are identical on both Large and Smaller ships, the only difference in space in the square footage between the larger and smaller ships.

There is always lots of storage, we often don't use all the storage spaces with two large and 2 carryon suitcases.

My recommendation for cruisers, if it is a port intensive cruise, all you need is an inside cabin (unless you are claustrophobic) When in an inside, we leave the TV on showing the front of the ship so we can tell when the sun comes up.

Port Reviews

Berlin

Took the tour to Berlin, long bus ride, but worth the time and effort. Visited the Berlin wall, Stutthof Concentration camp (very sobering unbelievable site. Hard to believe humans could treat other humans in that manner) and a reconstructed portion of the old Berlin.

Copenhagen

We spend three days the cruise in Copenhagen. Took in Trivoli Park, did the HopOn HopOff bus and stopped at several sites.

Stockholm

Don't miss the tour of Vasa museum to see the war ship that sunk 37 minutes into its maiden voyage. They have raised her and built the museum around her.

Tallinn

Good tour of the city finishing up with a lunch with traditional sausages and three different beers

Riga

In the port we went to an organic farm. It was run solely by a woman in her 70's, It was an amazing trip with her sampling her grown food and honey. Also, for the first time ever saw Storks.

Klaipeda

This is the port to learn about Amber Stones. (don't buy on board, wait and take Amber tour)
