We chose this cruise because we were booked on Pearl of the Seas and it was canceled several times due to Covid. We were told we had to cruise before the end of 2022 or lose all the money we had paid for the cruise on Pearl of the Seas. There was nothing available on Pearl of the Seas in the New England area and we could not book the cruise for 2023. Our suite was on the 5th floor and was very nice with plenty of space to put everything away. The excursions were pretty good, but almost all of them required additional fees. The food was a huge disappointment. There were only 3 choices for lunch and dinner and if you did not like those choices you were out of luck unless you ordered a cheese burger at breakfast. Meat was served medium rare and there was no changes allowed. Desserts were 3 choices: ice cream, cheese cake, or pie/cake. The desserts all appeared to be frozen not home -made. One day at breakfast not liking any of the lunch options we ordered for a lobster roll at breakfast for lunch. It had to be sent back as it was not fresh and had a strong ammonia smell. There were some good meals such as a lobster meal, lobster bake.

American Cruise line hires only Americans and some of them do not have the same work ethnic as other cruise lines. While on this cruise our room service person and a chef walked off the ship.

Cocktails are provided nightly but there was only a small variety of wine and they were often out of chardonnay and had no red blend. We were often told it was on order.
