We chose this cruise because we had never tried a river cruise before and Viking seemed to be a popular option. They provided an included excursion at each city they stopped in, and we felt it was nice not to pay for every excursion.

Finding the Cruise - Call for Better Pricing

Our experience when we got to Amsterdam was really mixed. We were not provided with the exact location of the boat, and had to call them. Even still, there are two completely separate ends of the cruise terminals in Amsterdam, and we guessed which end they were on incorrectly, so we had to walk all the way back to the opposite end. Don't worry, they said, it's a 5 minute walk. It was a mile away and a 20 minute walk. They DO NOT expect people to arrive on their own, they expect that everyone will take the "free airfare" and be picked up at the airport. We were already in Europe, so we had called them and booked our cruise without the free airfare (you can do this, and I'm sure it lowers the price; btw, the pricing we received was far more competitive than what's posted online...I would recommend you never take the online price - call them and get a better deal). We were on the Rolf (because of low water levels, they couldn't bring the Idun back down the Rhine).
