This is my second and our parents fifth Alaska cruise since the restart so I think I have some perspective. Overall, this was a good cruise, and everyone in our party agreed that we would be open to cruising with Celebrity again. The biggest plus with this cruise were the employees. They were all, without exception, friendly and (importantly) competent. We have been on many cruises over the years and the staff on Solstice this past month really stands out. But after that, it was difficult for us to find “10s” in other areas though we feel that the overall experience was better than average.

The Ship:

We really like the S Class ships. The layout of Solstice is fantastic. There is a lot of public space. It is easy to move around the ship with nice broad staircases, a lot of elevators, and good public area architecture. I like the wide promenade on Deck 5. There’s a good observation area on 12 through the Gym for viewing the glaciers. We loved the solarium which was very nice to have as Alaska can be chilly even in August! The card room and library were always full of passengers doing their things. There was almost always live music happening on Deck 3 which could be heard throughout the atrium area. There was dancing and people were out and having a good time.
