My wife and I who have done approximately 50 cruises since 1999 - Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America and P&O - and went on this one with my son, his partner, his partners parents and our grandson. Car parked on dock and embarkation went very smoothly, we were on the ship within 40 minutes. My son and family had a balcony cabin (12741) right at the back of the ship just below the infinity pool His parents in law and us had 2 separate indoor cabins just around the corner ( 12716 and 12728). Whenever you sat on the balcony, you would get a soaking if there was anyone using the infinity pool. There was a drip tray to catch any water coming out of the pool but it was totally inadequate. Its probably a good job there was only one day out of seven that you could sit outside! The inside cabins aren't built for a big bloke like me. We usually have an inside cabin and the space is more than adequate for out needs, but when the side of the bed is about a foot from the side wall and half that space has the 40inch TV mounted in its own box in it, it became slightly difficult for me to get in and out, having to bend double to avoid the TV cabinet.
The TV seemed to show - when it could get a signal - Australian Rules Football and Australian Rugby League for the hundreds of Aussies on board - not. We were still in Southampton when the FA community Shield kicked off, but did they show it on board - No We did catch a fleeting glimpse of the match when an Italian ship, MSC Virtuoso, set sail before us and they were showing it on their big Sea screen!
I wouldn't recommend getting the wi fi packages on board as they rarely worked. Midway through the voyage ( and please remember that we went into at least 3 fjords ) a notice appeared in the cruise newsletter which read 'Due to our location in the fjords we are unable to receive a satellite signal. Please do not purchase an internet package today as it will not work and you will be charged' Does that mean if you purchased the Ultimate wifi package for the 7 days (£199) you could get a signal? i dont think so.
