This was my family’s first post pandemic cruise, and we went with our extended family. We had high expectations for this cruise as it was my in-law’s 30th cruise with Princess and up until this point, Princess was one of their favourite cruise lines, and they’ve been on a lot of cruises! The Medallion app they so proudly market only works, maybe, half the time. We were told to complete all steps on the Medallion app prior to boarding but nobody even looked at our Covid test results or vaccination proof on the app and we still had to present hard copies when checking in. We bought 2 packages for internet for $249 each. This internet connection was SLOW, glitchy, constantly kicking us off forcing us to re-establish connections repeatedly and sometimes just didn’t work at all. The ship itself in many areas looks like it’s old and falling apart. Parts of the ceiling literally fell on my brother-in-law creating a huge gash in his hand. Some staff were nice, but most seemed really bothered if you spoke to them. It was also obvious that the staff behaviour improved in the final days probably because they knew tip time was coming up. We were forced to get tickets for shuttles and immigration that nobody ever collected or even looked at them, what a waste of time and energy. But the biggest disappointment of all, was the food in the Coral Main Dining Room. Wow, it was just unbelievable how bad the food was. It became a running joke each night to see who’s food would look and taste the worst. It was either completely bland or overloaded with salt. The plating looked like a toddler handled the food. How can Princess be proud of serving this food? I can actually go on and on, there’s much more I can complain about but to wrap it up, I will never be going on another Princess Cruise again. I can honestly say my family is closer as a result, we bonded over the poor food and service.

Cabin Review

Balcony

The cabin was efficiently designed but looked old and dingy. The washroom had cracks and those looked moldy/dirty. Water didn’t drain quick enough in the shower. Beds were lumpy and the pillows were the worst I’ve ever experienced at any hotel. There were only 2 outlets in the room! None near the bed. Today everyone has multiple devices and kids have devices, 2 power outlets is NOT ENOUGH! Carpets looked gross.
