The ports in Germany exceeded my expectations! It is such a beautiful country. Prague and Paris were fabulous! Our program director, Andrew, was the best we have ever had on any river or ocean cruise and we have cruised over 30 times. He took the time to meet and to talk to everyone individually during the cruise and did what he could to ensure that we were happy.
Viking has stepped up their food and the meals were outstanding!!! Breakfast was the same as past cruises but the lunch and dinner meals were noticeably better than the previous cruises.
All of the local tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and most had history backgrounds. I would definitely take this same cruise again but perhaps add a 2-3 night extension in Paris. Since this was my first trip to Paris, there was just so much to see and one full day was not enough. The stop at the American cemetery in Luxenbourg was moving. We especially enjoyed our lunch with the university students in Heidelberg. Every stop on this cruise is a gem and not to be missed. We had booked this cruise 2 years ago and then Covid hit so it was long overdue.
Cabin is small but that is to be expected with a standard cabin.
Beautiful city with a lot of history that is known for its smoked beer.
There is so much history in Nuremberg that it is not to be missed!
The Bishop's Residence is beautiful as is the rest of this city.
Heidelberg is the quintessential German town on the river. It is beautiful and the castle is unbelievable!
Prague's Old Town is beautifully preserved. It's a foodie and beer town and we found that the prices were extremely reasonable compared to other cities in Europe. You can get a fantastic meal for two with beer for less than $50 USD.
There is so much already said and written about Paris that I have nothing to add other than how friendly and helpful all the people were that we met.
The Gutenberg Museum is not to be missed. Gutenberg's invention did the most to change the course of our history.
I had no idea that this oldest city in Germany was once the capitol of the Holy Roman Empire.
