Sail Date: Aug 2022

We just returned from our first cruise on a regent ship to Alaska. We sailed on June 3rd out of Seward and disembarked in Vancouver. Prior to sailing on Regent, we have been on many other lines; Viking Ocean, Oceania, Paul Gauguin, Princess, RCC, Holland America and Celebrity. We have been on Alaska cruises before, but this time I convinced my DH to try a “luxury line.” I am using the definition that I have seen on the cruise critic boards for luxury cruises as follows: A ship that is small, elegant and all inclusive (or almost)”. I was curious to see if Regent was any better than some of the other lines I have sailed on previously. My favorite lines from the above list have been Oceania and Princess. We selected a Concierge Veranda on Deck 8.

The Mariner is a beautiful ship. Our room was better than any of the other lines I have sailed with previously. The amenities in the cabin were very nice. I really loved having use of the binoculars in Alaska. Also, it rained a lot and having an umbrella was very useful. We loved having our laundry done for us as it was included in the Concierge level.

The food was good, but I felt that the food was overall better on Oceania and in some instances Princess.
