We liked the thought of the hybrid nature of this cruise, with 2 nights in hotel in both Prague and Paris. First of all, let me say Viking was not responsible for the heat, or the airline issues many of us experienced in post covid environment that made some parts not so enjoyable, in fact their services were top notch and how comforting it was to be met at the airport by a friendly person in a red shirt after flight delays and provide a private car to our hotel. Our time in Prague was hot but enjoyable. The hotel was very nice (and air conditioned) and while not located in the Old Town, was a walkable distance. Our walking tour of Prague was in the morning so we avoided the worst of the heat.
The drive to Nuremberg took most of a morning, but the heat made the afternoon stops less enjoyable than they might have been; we just wanted to get to the boat.
While we were on the Main River at the start of the cruise, they were unable to open the top deck because of all the bridges we were going under the first few days. While i realize this was unavoidable, it was a disappointment.
Our cabin was perfectly comfortable with a private balcony. A little tight scootching around the end of the bed sometimes but lots of storage to put away our clothing and etc.
Beautiful city.
