We were looking forward to our cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest with Viking. Due to low water, we spent some time on buses. Viking did their best to navigate around the low water, however, they knew this was going to be a problem and we were not advised till after the trip began. Europe was experiencing a heat wave and AC was a must. The ship's AC was only operating at 50%, which made the common areas very uncomfortable. We were told several times that repairs were being made, yet the repairs never happened. Viking is too big of an operation for emergency repairs not to be handled on their vessel, especially in inland waters. I serviced Industrial HVAC equipment for 40+ years and when required I would respond to emergency services and stay till the equipment was returned to service. This was standard practice in the US., at least it was.
The Crew, Staff, food, and accommodations, were outstanding, The scenery was outstanding. And the guided tours were excellent.
The cabins are small but very neat and clean. They are organized and somehow work. Only wish there was a chair to sit in.
