We wanted to visit a place neither of us had been before. This sounded like an interesting itinerary. The food was excellent. Service was also excellent. Our time on the ship exceeded our expectations. Day trips were variable- programmed for the slowest in the group. I understand accommodating for people who are less able to walk distances, but it often felt like we were held back. We felt like we were perhaps more able to participate than many others in the group. We only participated in one extra excursion- the Taste of Lisbon. This was a satisfactory walking tour, but I would not do it again. The only day tour that was less than great was the bakery and wine morning tour. The baker was absent the day we visited (after a village celebration). The visit to the winery was very entertaining, but the Portuguese lunch was not very good (we called it Portuguese pot roast- nothing like the beef stew Chef Michael on our ship prepared). Salamanca was a highlight- especially having some free time to go on our own. We went shopping and had lunch at a restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed the experience - especially the time on the ship. The staff on the ship was extraordinary, from the Captain on down to the housekeeping staff. Everyone tried their best to provide a 5 star experience for the guests.

Cabin Review

Veranda Suite

I loved the cabin and the veranda. We sat on the veranda frequently, especially in the morning before breakfast. The cabin was well organized and our belongings were well arranged.
