The cruise was awesome and one of the highlights of the day was the Captain's announcement. They were hilarious, not sure if he was trying to be, but they were. We started in South Hampton, Scotland 3 stops, Norway 2 stops and then Iceland 3 stops. Missed a port in Scotland due to high winds and not favorable tendering conditions. Weather was pretty normal for this time of year, rain and overcast.
Embarkation was the quickest I have ever had 20 minutes from drop off to being on the ship. The new South Hampton cruise terminal is highly efficient, and the workers were awesome. The ship was beautifully maintained and all of the areas we visited were clean and in good repair.
NCL being a budget cruise line is not known for the food. And while everything was edible you should not go on this cruise expecting haute cuisine. The buffet was large with rotating selections, and I really enjoyed the Pho station, Indian and Asian selections. MDR service was spot on with only 1 evening were there was a wait for a table. Cagney's and Le Bistro which used to be my favorite specialty restaurants have gone downhill. The food is still much better than the MDR, but you can tell some covid cost cutting measures are at work. However, Moderno and La Cucina were better than they were pre-covid and were actually our favorite of the Specialty dining this time. Moderno's salad bar was much better, and they had the manager and another worker attending to it constantly. The selections were fresher and much better. The Complimentary Asian restaurant was also a very good choice.
