Although no stranger to cruising this was our first river cruise in Europe. We took up Ama's offer for a free cruise for Front Line Workers. We enjoyed every minute of this cruise and its ship, the Ama Certo. Upon arrival we were made to feel welcome. Our stateroom was excellent and we enjoyed sailing with the windows open at night. We were fortunate that the weather was comfortable and the water levels posed to concerns. We thoroughly enjoyed the meals. À la carte dining for breakfast and lunch is preferable to buffet style meals. Every evening the selection of dinner options was amazing. We almost always followed the Chef's recommendations and were never disappointed. The Chef's Table at the back of the ship was a pleasant surprise and we certainly made sure were ate there once. The local/regional special dinners were excellent as well.
The excursions were various so regardless of your physical ability you could always find a tour that fit your style, or you could always walk into town if you were lucky enough to have your port in town.
Our highlights included the Floriade exhibition, although we would probably have needed an entire day and more to do it justice. The full day in Bruges, of course, was magnificent. We debated doing the full day in Bruges or the half day Ghent and half day Bruges. We took our Cruise Director's advice and were not disappointed. Other highlights Castle de Haar and Veere. We ventured on our own in Antwerp rather than do the guided tour. We spent hours just walking around with our city map.
