My wife and I really enjoy cruising. We have done this itinerary in 2008 and joined friends again. We did 4 days into Alaska staying at the Princess lodges around Denali which are very nice.

Take the train (Princess sightseeing car) from Denali to Whitter and board the ship. The ship is older and dated, worn. the service is very good , food is very good, dining offerings are very good.

The biggest frustration is that Princess is using the "Medallion app". this app is necessary to upload significant pre-cruise information, including vaccine status and passport info. The apps utility on board is a nightmare. the easy stuff is that it opens the room door, confirms dining reservations when you arrive, and processes purchases. this app requires that you carry your smart phone (really needs to be a newer model) around the entire cruise. most of our friends abandon the app after going the the onboard service desk a few times. Princess is pushing guest service to an app; reservations, room service, excursions, "crew chat" (which never received a response).

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite with Balcony

Dated, curtains coming apart, bathroom, likely original layout, huge tub (never used), shoebox sized shower.
