Check in was flawless. Service in the Windjammer, wonderful (especially greeters Cecilio from Philippines & Martin from Jamaica). Main dining room was a mixed bag. The waiters and assistant waiters were awesome (Jonnalynn and Grace from Philippines). I did not appreciate the suits at the entrance where you check in for a table. We had "My Time Dining" and were told several time that you could not reserve tables. When we were escorted in, we would ask for a window and were always told "it's been assigned." By who?? I thought tables couldn't be reserved. One night, they even pretended to convert a table for 2 into a 4 after we'd asked for it. It was "assigned." We were seated nearby and the minute we ordered, they returned the table back to a 2 and seated a couple. Rude, I didn't know they played favorites. I am a cruise food junkie (over 10 cruises) and for the first time, was not impressed. I visited Chops and while Talia our server was amazing, I can't say it was worth it. Most of the dishes can be had in the main dining room or buffet. Housekeeping was good (Orion). Entertainment was not nightly but good, especially Stephanie (Whitney Houston diva) WOW! Bruno from Brazil had excellent dance and fitness classes. The egg drop and Wedding game were fun. The ports: Haines? Why? Really??? Juneau: took the shuttle to the glacier ($45 @ port), beautiful. Sitka: walked to National Forest (about a mile walk), free, nice. About half a mile (returning towards the ship) is an eagle sanctuary ($15). It was raining the entire time but not pouring...get out there. Bring an umbrella, it helped! The glacier arms (cruising) were nice but I expected more. Global warming is clearly destroying nature. We wore the entire time and did not get covid. Our room was a balcony on the 7th floor towards the back, it was fine. I used to think RC was a step up from Carnival but this trip revealed the opposite. I'm going back to Carnival.
