This will be a recap of our recent Viking River trip, with the pre-cruise package, from Zurich to Paris. The pre-cruise package added Geneva and Zermatt to the itinerary.

Being South Florida residents, we opted for the Viking plus Air service to get our preferred direct flights from Miami to Zurich and Paris to Miami. We booked Business class on Swiss Air from Miami (so-so service and rather uncomfortable, hard lay-flat accommodations) with a short connection to Geneva from Zurich. Coming home, the splendid Air France Business Class accommodations made the trek back to Miami quite pleasant with softer lay-flat pods and superb service.

Arrival in Geneva, after a long flight, was as scheduled. Baggage was intact! We were not amused after meeting our Viking rep, and being told to wait in the airport for about an hour while the rep fruitlessly tried to locate missing luggage for a fellow traveler. Standing around in a airport after a transcontinental flight for over an hour is not exactly a warm welcome. As with the flight home, things all balanced out as we were the last out of the hotel (with a late flight) in Paris and were treated to a transfer to CDG in a roomy, comfortable Mercedes sedan.
