The good…virtually any cruise is enjoyable. this was no exception. the ports we visited were wonderful. the crew added positive vibes to our adventure. every one was cheerful and friendly. a couple of bartenders, anna and salvador deserve particular mention. our room steward, darryl was also first rate.
The bad…ok, the food wasn’t bad. are golden corral or applebee’s bad? no, but it’s not what you’d expect on a major cruise ship. i’d say it was like grandma used to make remembering she was head cook at sing sing back in the day. i understand the line is trying to make up losses incurred by covid, so i’d give the general fare a pass. i expect better from the specialty restaurants. i didn’t expect “cagney’s” to be “morton’s or “ruth chris”. it wasn’t “tads”, but i looked at the meat more than once to see if i could find the whip marks where the jockey hit it. the brazilian fare was just ok. the french bistro was an improvement over the others.
Really bad were the wine lists advertising bottles that weren’t available. here’s another thing. i found out by accident on the next to last day that san miguel beer was served at one of the bars i frequented. please.
