We chose this cruise to celebrate our 45th anniversary. We had docked in two industrial ports far from the city center when the corporate office decided we could not continue to sail on the Rhine. We sailed back to Strausbourg. We then spent 4 hours or more on 2 separate days riding on a bus to various excursions. We exchanged ships with another group of passengers and continued on the cruise. We missed the UNESCO section of the River. We took an excursion boat to see some of the castles. Imagine our surprise to see a Viking boat headed into the supposedly unsailable region of the Rhine. The food was not very good. The entertainment on the boat we were transferred to was terrible. There were no enrichment programs. We thought we were planning a memorable trip, but what we got was a great disappointment. I cry when I think about how stupid we were to book this trip.
