This is our first cruise since the Pandemic. We had three cruises cancelled. We were a bit apprehensive, since so many reviews recently mentioned reduced staffing resulting in poor service. That certainly didn't include this cruise! My wife and I are Elite status with Princess, and this was our 20th cruise. We both thought it was the best we have ever taken. The service was the best we have ever received shipboard, on ANY cruise line, and we have cruised on five lines. Princess had some issues with their Medallion Service, mostly resulting in slow internet and having to restart our phones several times a day. But, they upgraded their servers on our third day aboard, and things were considerably better. By the end of the cruise, using MedallionNet was fun and productive. Several times we ordered drinks, and the server never failed to find us, wherever we were on the ship. Their food has just gotten better, as well. Gone are the days of overfilled platters of carbs and calories. Now portions are more reasonable, and the food is healthier and tastier. I'm still a steak and potatoes guy, and I wasn't disappointed, but I was really pleased at the diverse menus every night on board. We purchased the Princess+ package for this cruise, which included drinks, tips, and wi-fi. This resulted in a care-free trip without visits to the customer service desk to review the bill. In fact, the machine Princess had to print out your account copy was nowhere to be found. We were still able to get envelopes to give a bit extra to those special stars we met, like Yudi, a server in Crooners, who always seemed glad to see us, and knew our drink preferences right off. We are looking forward to our November cruise on the Emerald.
This is a smallish balcony. We usually rent mini-suites, but none were available for this booking. Having said that, the closet is the same generous size as in the mini's, with a convenient safe. The bathroom is adequate with shower large enough so the curtain isn't constantly attacking you during your shower. The only thing missing is the extra chair, shown in some Princess pictures. There is only one chair, with the desk in this room. An extra person must sit on the bed or on the balcony. I guess you could drag a chair inside form the balcony, but that would be a hassle. Our cabin was B206, almost at the very front of the ship. It was quiet, and very well tended by our steward.
