Boarding the ship in beautiful Arles, we experienced nothing but the best of service from an enthusiastic, and highly dedicated staff. The rooms are well-appointed, beds are comfy, and the housekeeping service is exemplary. Storage space is at a premium, however, the closet and storage drawers maximize the use of the space. The meals onboard were perfection, with every possible option served and no stone left unturned with attention to detail. Minor problems with two different meals were quickly put to rights. And, of course, it was always appreciated to have our wine glasses never go below half full! Simply outstanding serving staff and wine stewards. The excursions were a bit too understated, and given the route through so many wine regions, the lack of wine tours and elevated wine themed activities was disappointing. However, the historical tours were very well done, the local guides were knowledgeable and captivating. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time onboard with Emerald.
