The cruise was our second river cruise and booked last minute. We chose the Danube eastbound. This river cruise seemed an interesting option due to the variety of visits and activities on offer. Avalon also offered customers the option of making their own travel arrangements to get to the boat which was useful for the many thousands of us with vouchers.

The app provided up to date information. Our embarkation port was changed which was not a problem as were informed two days prior to joining. The boat was only a 15min walk from the railway station. We were greeted by very friendly crew members and speedily checked in.

Avalon View is the newest in the fleet and this was most certainly reflected in the condition and facilities on board. The panorama cabins have a wonderful view of the river with the large window directly opposite the bed. Water is provided twice a day, toiletries are L'Occitane and the bed linen is top quality. I have never had so much storage in a hotel room let alone on a boat. Read more
