This is my 8th cruise. First time on the Symphony. The bad first - The schooner lounge / Pianist was single handedly the most dissapointing aspect of any cruise I’ve ever been on. It was like an 80 year old man who literally followed an IDENTICAL script every single night. Un-changing, no request folder or bucket, no interaction, boring/monotone and like I said, same exact never-heard before songs every single night starting with some Elton John 10 minute instrumental. There was hardly anyone there every night and this performer wonders why. 2- The comedians/shows were also attrocious. I could go on carnival or princess and watch 6 different shows, 6 different nights. Not on Symphony. Again, literally the same exact 45 minute show from 2 comics night after night. We kept going thinking it would change but it didn’t. I guess they were accommodating all 5000 passengers not having any different material for when we see multiple shows. What a waist. 3- The app was a disaster as everyone sais. Always crashing, we constantly have to refresh it to see what pops up, having to pre/book everything you do is so utterly annoying when it should be first come first serve. Half the people just book everything they can in the beginning so they “have seats” then they never show up!! 4- The lack of food at night on a ship that has 7500 people is crazy. The only thing you can eat after 9 is greasy pizza unless you want bar food at Playmakers but bringing the family there with 100 roudy drunk goons watching football isn’t ideal for chicken tenders and nachos with your toddler. RC wonders why the pizza place is absolutely packed and hostile night after night and kids running around causing trouble, THERES NO WHERE ELSE TO GO! At least open the darn hot dog stand!!!
The good, there was plenty to do and it was so clean and didn’t feel crowded until after 9 at the pizza joint. Very smooth sailing and amazing crew. On and off was easy and the windjammer was Awsome for accommodating such large crowds.
