My wife and I took a 7 day cruise from Whittier to Vancouver. Prior to that we had a 7 day inland trip staying in three princess lodges. Overall the inland trip was superior by far although the Princess lodges are adequate but not up to a typical city hotel standard.

The Princess Magestic was a beautiful ship which was kept extremely clean at all times by the staff. Princess uses a medalion system which apparently sends an electric signal to anyone near with your information. Your cabin door unlocks prior to your getting to it, when ordering a drink or mail the staff addresses you by name, and no time is spent with the billing process as anything ordered is billed electronically by the medalion when you approach a bar, table etc.

The registration for the medalion is tedious to say the least. Many on the cruised expressed difficulty in setting up the device. The TV in the cabin is supposed to show all the information of your trip but ours never showed our running tally so we had to wait in line at the customer service area several times up to thirty minutes to assess how much we had spent. The wifi was very iffy and most of the time didn't work as advertise. Food was average to bad at the free places with the exception of the international cafe and alfredo's. We ate several times at the specialty restaurant Crown Grill which was excellent.

Cabin Review

Minisuite with balcony. Adequate but not great. Had two tvs with different remotes but I found that if you changed the channel on one, the other also changed which irritated my partner
