We were invited to join good friends who had made multiple cruises on Viking. We were not disappointed. The service was consistently top notch, the food was excellent and appealing, the itinerary was worthwhile, and our ship was clean and as safe as possible in these times. We found our room to be comfortable and reasonably spacious for an ocean accommodation. There was plenty to do on the ship. We tried not to miss a single opportunity to compete at trivia. Our excursions featured knowledgeable and engaging local guides. It was amazing to learn how much was included in our package. Our end-of-cruise billing statement was the lowest amount I can remember, and we have cruised many times with other cruise lines (including Disney, Royal Caribbean, Holland America and Norwegian). We were disappointed that our ship could not dock close to Venice, requiring tours to begin at Ravenna and placing us on bus and boat transportation for more time than we had to explore Venice. This was the biggest negative of the trip, but Viking should be commended for awarding a generous credit when the cruise experience did not match the description on the itinerary.
