This review is for the MSC Divinia 4 day cruise to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral. This was our first cruise on MSC, however we have done multiple cruises on 4 other cruise lines for comparison.

First the pros: The ship is beautiful with an upscale finishes and well maintained. The service on board is second to none. There were 4-5 music venues every night so it never seemed crowded wherever you went. The main theater is the largest I have ever seen on a cruise ship and almost all of the seats provide excellent viewing. The singers were good but the dancers were average. The MSC private island is one of the best we’ve seen. They have 3 inlet beaches so there is little to no current and there are lifeguards present. There is a large buffet and several smaller food shacks on the island so you don’t need to go back to the ship to eat. There are multiple bars around the island that are included in the drink packages, but specialty drinks are limited. There are also shuttle carts to the beaches if you don’t want to walk 10-15 minutes.

Food in the buffet was average like most cruises. The main restaurant dinner menu was lacking in choices and the food was very bland. The chicken parmigiana was the worst I have ever had, and this is an Italian owned cruise line. Also there was no soft serve ice cream, a first for the cruises we have been on.
