We chose this cruise because we wanted to go to Alaska, we booked in 2019 and of course it was canceled. Once we got it rescheduled at some point Carnival decided to change the ship and the itinerary, they removed the stop in Skagway and they changed the ship to the splendor. Splendor was a difficult ship to navigate. Once we got use to the layout we were ok. I’m gonna be comparing this cruise to our Disney cruise we went on in April . I have to say that unless you’re a super Disney fan, save your money and go with Carnival or literally any other cruise line. My kids, 13 and 15 loved the carnival kids clubs so much more than Disney! They both said the people who worked there were very involved and they had lots of activities, unlike Disney that just left the teens to hang out. My shy daughter hated Disneys club. She liked Carnival and said they kept doing ice breakers so that everyone could get to know each other. We all liked the food just as much and in most cases better than Disney. We literally paid more than twice as much for the Disney 5 day cruise as we did for this 7 day cruise and they didn’t even have a lobster night!!! Carnival had lobster!! The entertainment was awesome!! We couldn’t do everything we wanted to do on this cruise. There was always an activity going on… Disney, not so much. Disney’s shows hands down are better but the overall entertainment and Cruise director Andy was awesome! Andy was everywhere and he is now one of our favorite Carnival cruise director. Our favorite is Rev Dr E! I say if you like to have a fun cruise then choose carnival. Oh, one more thing, on the Alaskan cruise the pool roof is closed! It’s warm and toasty in that area, perfect for swimming and hanging out! Bring your swimsuits! Hopefully Carnival will get more employees… they seemed overwhelmed and short staffed especially in the dining room. Overall we loved it and we have cruised a lot!

Cabin Review

We had one of the lowest level inside cabins and the biggest complaint we have is that there was 1 outlet!! Carnival has also cut back on cleaning. You get your room cleaned once a day, not twice like they used to.
