orwegian provided a nice room with great service, and the staff were very friendly throughout the ship. We especially liked Allen in the Cigar Lounge area. Specialty restaurants were excellent, and the loyalty program gave us lots of great perks at Platinum level. A few main disappointments though: (1) Having dinner in the regular dining rooms took forever. Not sure why there is a huge break between every part of the meal but eating there is a drawn-out affair. Not that we have anywhere to go, but just want a meal to move along at a more natural pace. (2) Rule enforcement is non-existent. Towels on the pool lounges as early as 6:45 AM on last sea day, and folks would not show up for hours – some never the whole day (we stay at the pool all day so we know). The daily paper they print does mention in super fine print that 60 minutes is the maximum for holding seats, but no one ever enforces this at the pool, and there are no signs at the pool stating this rule. Totally frustrating for anyone who can’t get there early enough to throw a towel and an old book down and “reserve” their seat while the head to shore excursions (yes we saw this when one family came out at 4:00 PM to the seats they “reserved” with a box of Rice Crispies and a banana - obviously from breakfast). Celebrity is good at enforcing this and has staff patrolling and taking stuff off chairs when indicated. (3) The band at the pool is deafeningly loud. While sitting in our chairs we had to literally scream at one another to communicate. I played in bands for many years and I can tell you most venues would not allow this ridiculous level of volume. Used Airbuds the whole time to cancel some of this out. The band was good, but musicians love playing too loud, and no one from the ship there to instruct them to turn down.

I will go on Norwegian again and plan to do so this fall, but wish they could just enforce some simple rules. I think they are all confrontation adverse and too afraid of making a passenger mad, so they allow pandemonium to prevail.
