We selected this cruise to be our first post-Covid Med region vacation (after a cancellation in 2021). Attractive itinerary starting from Civitavecchia IT (round trip) with visits to Greece, Croatia, and Montenegro over 10-days. At the time of the departure, some Covid protocols were still in place including the pre-cruise tests, and testing required for return flight to US. The return test was eliminated 2-days prior to our disembarkation improved travel anxiety. Masks were optional except in the main theater and casino. We sailed with 1968 passengers.
We were in a Sky Suite giving us access to Michaels Club (now the Retreat) and Luminae. Concierge service in the club was excellent as was bar service. Luminae provided wonderful service, but had some weak menus on several nights which pushed us to some of the specialty restaurants for dinner (Murano, Tuscan, and the Porch). We though Murano had the strongest menu and service of the 3. Reflection is the newest of the Solstice class ships and will be the last for the Revolution upgrade. We were on her in 2016 and the ship is still in very good condition throughout. In general, we also though service was the best of the Celebrity ships we've sailed in a couple of years. ( We've sailed 4 times since the shutdown.)
We had excursions at every port. Each location was fantastic and was a photo opportunity at every step. I rate the itinerary as a 5. As we booked all excursions through Celebrity, the tour buses were subject to mask requirements. In all cases, the bus transportation side of the tour was the lowest part of any experience. Rides were long and often uncomfortable with inadequate air conditioning and crowding. By our last excursion, you could definitely hear more coughing and sneezing on the buses and we know by embarkation, several people who ended up C+. Ship was immaculate - guessing it accelerated as touring increased. Overall, it was an excellent experience and would definitely sail that ship and comparative itinerary again. Embarkation at Civitavecchia carried one suprise for us. We booked a provide ride back to Rome. While waiting outside baggage claim, we discovered our private ride lacked credentials to pick us up at the ship. We had to take a shuttle to point outside the gate and the driver ended up picking up a short fare prior to picking us up. So had to wait 45 m for our "charted" driver to get back. We consulted with our concierge about this the day prior to disembarkation and they assured us we did not need a shuttle - but unfortunately - they were wrong. So do your own homework on any private conveyances.
Sufficient room for storage. Comfortable bed and efficient layout. We were on deck 12 which has a canopy over the balcony area. While providing shade (which I prefer), it can be consider an obstruction when taking long range photos. Its hard to get the cover out of the frame. Room steward was excellent as was the butler. Sky Suites get you access to Michaels club and Luminae which are excellent perks.
