It saddens me to write this review because I think I’m done with cruising after this experience. I should have known something was off when weeks before we cruised we were never able to speak with a real customer service rep at NCL. Husband and I are experienced cruisers. Embarkation was a train wreck — hours long waiting in line in the Florida heat. We kept having to show the same documents to many different people over and over and moved from one line to the other. Was that supposed to make us feel like we were really doing something?
My husband and I are not complainers. Really. We believe in making our own good time no matter what. But this was truly not good. You won’t have to worry about gaining weight on the Getaway because I guarantee you won’t overeat. Food was not good at the buffet and was obviously prepackaged, flavorless junk. Specialty restaurants were meh. No towel animals anymore. Few to no food choices late night. The customer service desk is indifferent to your needs.
