My husband and friends decided to go on a couples cruise. The cruise embarked from Port Canaveral, FL on June 27, 2022. My cruise package included the premium food and drink package for both myself and my husband. Right after boarding the ship we decided to go for a drink. At the first bar we visited, the bartender charged me $12 for my drink stating we did not have the drink package on our account. We went right down to customer service and spoke to one of the agents who was extremely rude. I showed him my reservation confirmation that showed exactly what was purchased with my trip. I even called my travel agent and she sent over an email that showed what was on my account from their system. He still continued to argue and say, he had nothing to do with it and it would be up to Miami if they would allow me to use it. He also told me I could continue to buy drinks, but if they didn’t allow me to use the package I bought, I would be responsible to pay for them. By the end of my visit to customer service, which took about 25 minutes, the agent told me that they would probably know by that afternoon if they would change my account or not and that they would either leave a note in my room or a message on my phone. By 6:00 that evening, neither was done. I had an appointment for a massage at the spa, so my husband went back down and explained the situation to a different agent. That agent went right into the computer and then printed out a new cards with the code on them showing me have the food and drink package. Even after this was fixed, we were still charged for our drinks, but after go back down to customer service, this problem was resolved instantly and there were no further incidences in this matter.
During my spa visit I added the exfoliating option to my massage. By the time the massage was over, I had a cut down the front of both of my shins, that were both bleeding. My left leg now has a scar on it. When I showed the manager what had happened, they refunded me the $30 that the add-on cost. I asked the manager if they had anything that could take the sting out of it, but she said no. This caused some issues for me for the rest of the vacation because the cuts burned every time the salt water hit them.
When poolside, the waiters seemed to only serve the parties that had men in them. When my female friend and I were sitting in the lounge chairs alone, they would pass right by us never asking us if we would like anything to drink. Most times it was quicker if we just went up to the bar ourselves and got our drinks.
The cabin was nice. It was comfortable and clean, although the seal on our shower was broken so every time we took a shower, the water would spill out onto the floor. This was not too big of a deal for us because the floor mat soaked it up.
The gentleman taking care of us and our room was excellent. He was very attentive and aware of our needs. From the very first day he knew us by name and recognized us no matter where he saw us on the ship. That was a nice added, personal touch.
This cruise was recommended by my travel agent and the travel dates were convenient with my personal schedule. I visited the shopping center and a local beach. The shopping was the same type of store over and over again. Everyone was selling jewelry, tshirts, etc. It got repetitive and boring very quickly.
After that, we grabbed a ride and went to Tortugas Beach. The beach was pretty dirty and smelled like sewer, but the drinks and the food were pretty good and the service was excellent.
The beach was beautiful. It was relaxing and the water was refreshing. The clarity of the water made it possible to look right through it and see our feet. The only issue we had on the beach was the gentleman took my husband's drink order and then never came back with his drink, in 3 hours. I would highly recommend this port!
