Overall the cruise was very nice. As usual, nice rooms with a great balcony, great daily room service, food was excellent, crew was very friendly and accommodating, and the Port Talks were very informative. Viking always goes "the extra mile" to make sure every detail is covered and that we were always kept informed. The daily news put in our rooms each evening for the following daily activities was extremely helpful and current. The weather was beautiful and clear every day of the trip and we did not have one drop of rain the entire cruise, which was quite unusual, and very enjoyable.

The included tour of Historic Skagway and White Pass Summit was a disappointment, which we had signed up for.

The tour bus was about 20 minutes late leaving our cruise ship. The bus dropped us off at the Gold Rush Cemetery and that was it. We were supposed to be taken to the "breathtaking glaciers and snowcapped peaks" of the White Pass Summit, but they never took us there. The weather was crystal clear with blue sky, so it would have been an excellent opportunity to see his. Also, we were supposed to be given the opportunity to walk the short forest trail behind the cemetery that leads to Lower Reid Falls. The bus driver told us up front that we probably wouldn't have time to see the Reid Falls and get back in time before the bus left to go back to the ship. We all felt we got cheated because all we had time for was to see the cemetery. We felt that they should have provided the extra time for us to see both the White Pass Summit and Reid Falls. We felt like we were being rushed through the tour because the bus was late leaving in the beginning.

Cabin Review

The cabin was excellent in all aspects and our cabin steward "Lizelle" was super and she always met our every need and provided answers to all our questions. Every day and evening spent there was enjoyable and our steward always made sure we had plenty of supplies and our refrigerator was kept stocked.

Port Reviews

Seward

We really enjoyed the Alaska Sea Life Center at Seward with all the life animal exhibits as well as the historical exhibits. We spent a lot of time there just enjoying all the different stories told by the guides. The view outside the museum of the mountains was breathtaking and this was one of our highlights of the cruise.
