Pre-boarding was ok, standard affair but we had a different cabin number from our luggage labels. Our original cabin was right at the back of the ship (great, we'd never had one before). Our new cabin was a deck above on the side. When queried with Reception Staff it was deck 8 rear were isolation cabins for covid. Ok, but when you find out at the end of the week a couple had to stay in their cabin and were underneath us at the side of the ship...... were we lied to??

Food: disgusting mainly. Either cold, tough (meats) or not even available. What salad bar only has tomato and cucumber every other day and no bananas at Breakfast? Bananas were available a week before. No Baked potatoes at lunch, nothing like the ever popular roast/carvery meats or cottage pie. Desserts: tasteless and the sponge puddings were so flat people were literally scraping them out or giving up altogether. Drinks: anyone know what a white wine spritzer is? They didn't. Anyone for a Bloody Mary? Tough, not tomato juice. The spirits were extremely watered down and apparently the bottled beer didn't fare much better. I drank Prosecco, normally 2 is my limit, drank glass after glass with no effect. So it maybe All-Inc but is it worth it???

Staff, cabin steward could have been anyone, no name in cabin as previous cruises. Wait staff were generally good as were bar staff. Ermille, he was absolutely brilliant (give him a wage rise). Buffet Manager sadly was not the usual standard. Fredy his name. Walked about with a phone to his ear or wafting a piece of paper. No interaction with gusts, not like Angel, Jo-Jo and Adrian from days gone by. I saw guests struggling with plates/walkers/sticks and he strode past without a glance. I asked for brown sauce, coming from stores was the snappy answer. Later, I spoke to Julian from the main Restaurant/Italian, told him and next Morning it was out.

Cabin Review

Ok, but would not have paid the asking price for it. We got moved (at our reluctance) up from deck 8. Balcony furniture could do with updating, chairs going rusty. Shower needed sealing as we had towels on the floor to mop up where it was leaking.

Great to walk straight in off the ship and get lost in the narrow streets. Shopping in small unique shops and the pizzas are delicious!!
