We booked this cruise for the itinerary, and because the dates fit. Regent is more expensive than our usual cruise, but we wanted to see if it was worth the money; it was not, which is why the cruise only received 3 stars.
We had booked a 14 day cruise. Three months before the sailing date, Regent sent us a notice that the cruise itinerary was being dramatically changed, dropping many cities we wanted and doubling up on others. Despite asking, we never received an explanation for this. Our travel dates were locked in based on my work, so we kept the cruise, but we had to rebook flights, which at this date meant a much greater cost. It took weeks of contacting Regent, going up to higher and higher levels, before we were compensated for this.
The website is very slow, and not user-friendly. For shore excursions, some cities were not in the system until around two months prior to departure. Furthermore, in order to change excursions, this can only be done by calling Regent; it cannot be done on-line.
