1st ever cruise taken & also wanted to visit Israel
During the booking process I was was initially advised that a Covid lateral flow antigen test would be required before travel. After booking & at very short notice - 4 days before embarkation - was then advised by NCL via email that Israel required a PCR test within 72 hours of embarkation. After much inconvenience and at a cost of £160 for tests I managed to arrange these and get the required negative results. I then felt safe in the knowledge that I could travel without any stress in this regard.
On arrival in Athens we were told - on the coach at the airport - that we were all being taken to a hotel for a Covid antigen test. This was a large operation that obviously would taken some time/ effort to organise and certainly could not have been arranged at short notice. We were given no explanation as to why. We then arrived at the ship at around 4pm.
