-Don't try to take a quick inland tour before your cruise. Do what we did and take at least a week to see inland Alaska (ride the Wilderness Express on the Alaska Railroad! You will thank me later!) I recommend this be a separate vacation.
-The Stewards/Stewardesses and Waiters/Waitresses are AMAZING! But just know ~$15/day gratuity will be charged to your room account daily. That is why Princess Cruises REQUIRES a form of payment be on file with them before you sail.
-DON'T PAY $175 FOR 'High Speed Wifi'!!! It is NOT worth it. Go to speedtest.net/result/13326058754 to see the result of an internet speed test I performed onboard. Summary: 854ms ping time (SLOW!!!) 0.34 Mbps download (SLOW!!!) 2.92 Mbps upload (Surprisingly decent). In other words, their 'Award Winning' internet connection on the ship is practically worse than useless!!! It was almost as bad as dial up (remember those times??) Do your homework about excursions at HOME before you go on the cruise. Some excursions can be had at significantly reduced rates by just paying the merchant directly when you step off the ship (~50% of excursions). The internet access is the main reason I rated the cruise 4/5. Watch YouTube videos of all the excursions you want to experience before you pay for them. It will not ruin anything for you because being there is a 100x better, richer experience than seeing it in video or photo.
