Sadly, having experienced the Silverseas all inclusive luxury we won’t be returning. Having cruised seven times previously with five different mid-range cruise lines; Cunard, MSC, Celebrity and others we thought we might blow our annual holiday budget, saved after many Covid enforced cancelations, on one top end cruise and be seriously spoilt. Other than the feeling of space on board the Silver Spirit it is hard to identify any difference and in some areas Silverseas were seriously lacking. Still disappointed after our cruise I will try to concentrate on facts and not emotion.
PRE-CRUISE: I booked directly with Silverseas by phone and discussed our options with my personal cruise consultant, Maria. After three calls with Maria I booked back in Feb 2021 for a June 2022 departure and was offered a special deal that was due to expire at the end of Feb 2021. A 25% discount if I paid the full amount before the month end. That special offer was extended repeatedly and checking prices I could have booked the same cruise the week before our departure for just £200 more, however now with door to door transfers included.
Between booking and travel I contacted Maria three times with small queries. The first took 2 weeks and my chasing to elicit any reply and then her curt email started “I am sorry for the delay but I have been busy dealing with more important issues”. The two other occasions I contacted her I received no reply at all and simply gave up.
No tea/coffee facilities. TV didn't initially work at all and thereafter was clunky and still had sections e.g. my onboard account. That didn't work.
Bathroom excellent, room generally good but often too hot at Air Con was temperamental.
