I have travelled on Costa before and picked this cruise for the ports and also I liked the ambiance on the ship. For any of the staff to go beyond their parameters seems impossible. To me an excellent customer service seems unattainable on Costa. This tired cruise line needs a complete rethink on what they are offering and higher management needs to give the front facing workers a bit more autonomy. Costa has released three ships (so far) to it’s parent company Carnival to operate under the Carnival umbrella- if they don’t improve the customers will vote with their feet. The cruise was at 50% occupancy and I still felt that the service was not great - not because of the hard working staff but I felt that there was no higher management that could make decisions on the spot. No flexibility at all, which in my opinion bodes I’ll for this cruise line
