My wife and I have hither- to been loyal (Platinum level) Princess Cruisers and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience from both the UK and The USA. This ship is both comfortable and beautiful - the biggest we have sailed on in over 15 years cruising. Embarkation was relatively smooth at 12.30pm but we missed lunch in the Club Class Dining Room as nobody told us it was open on boarding and we only found by asking, that our cabin was ready at 3pm. We deliberately chose Club Class Mini suite to avoid the inevitable queue for breakfast and dinner and the “ enhanced menu”. While we never waited for a table, the enhanced menu consisted of “ one” special at dinner, communicated by mouth and it certainly was never special. The food generally was no better than OK - never had the “ wow factor” and was too frequently poorly presented.
Our experience on this mostly pleasant but definitely sub standard cruise, has seriously undermined our confidence in Princess (and this Captain in particular) to deliver a cruise we would enjoy in future. We are now actively considering cancelling all future planned cruises with Princess.
