We have been frequent Royal Caribbean cruisers and wanted to try something different. We thought Princess might fill the bill. Alaska was on the bucket list and whale watching was at the top. The cruise we booked included stops in Juneau, Whittier, Ketchikan, Icy Strait, Victoria BC, Skagway and Glacier Bay. Our excursions included 2 whale watching tours, and the Glacier tour with clambake.
When we got onboard we discovered that the Juneau whale watching had been canceled along with the glacier tour, Whittier, Ketchikan and Icy strait visits. We spent 3 hours in Juneau due to not being able to get their because of engineering problems that we were not told about ahead of time, even though they knew in plenty of time for us to cancel the cruise. No whale watching, no Glacier tour. Juneau for 3 hours... Our consolation prize were tickets to the Juneau gondola lift. 1900 people with tickets to a 60 person capacity lift. The line was so long it wasn't worth the effort.
One of the staterooms down the hall had a sewage backup so our hallway smelled like raw sewage the entire trip. The internet might as well have been dial up. Terrible coverage when it was working.
