We chose to cruise with Princess mostly because of the itinerary. After researching cruising to Alaska, we had heard so many times that Glacier Bay was a must see and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely beautiful and College Fjord was even almost as impressive. We also enjoyed the other ports of Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau.

The Royal was very nicely decorated, not overly gaudy looking like other ships we've been on in the past. All the crew were fantastic, especially Kris in the Good Sprits Bar. The food was good and the choices were abundant. The Medallion was so much better than having to use a card to access your room and for purchases. We really liked the educational aspect of Princess with the on-board naturalist and the guests that came on-board to share their experiences. We enjoyed the production shows and the Comedian was fairly good.

We also did a land tour following the cruise and were so impressed with Princess and the organization of all the moving parts involved with transfers, luggage, rooms at each location.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Stayed in R323

It was very nice and really enjoyed the larger living space. My only complaints were the motion detection lighting in the room was very inconvenient when waking up in the night for bathroom use and the balcony was small, but it was still enjoyable to sit out and enjoy the scenery.
