This particular cruise was selected because it offered travel and excursions through Alsace's Wine Country. It also complemented our desire to spend additional time, 3 days each, in the Swiss Alps (Lake Luzerne) and in Amsterdam. (We stayed in a houseboat, on one of the central canals.) Timing allowed us to tour the famed Keukenhof Gardens, at the peak of the tulip season (the pinnacle event for this vacation.)
DAY AFTER DAY, THE VIKING EXCURSIONS NEVER FAILED TO PLEASE! On-board meals were exquisite. The drink package provided a never-ending source of first rate dry white wines rom the region. We found that the tables-for-two in the stand-apart dining area (between the bow-deck and main bar-lounge area) were perfect for personalized dining services. New friendships were forged with the handful of other couples and family groups who also appreciated its laid back comforts and quaintness. The all glass front view and glass ceilings also added to this experience.
I really could not think of one way to improve this experience (aside from eliminating the Covid epidemic related "masking" and daily testing requirements.)
Comfortably spacious cabin and bathroom. Clean and well cared-for by crew.
