We chose Viking because so many friends and colleagues had wonderful experiences. We had not previously been on a cruise, and are not interested in large, ocean-going, thousands-of-passengers cruise lines. Viking River Cruises suited us just perfectly. The cabin, amenities, service, food and shore excursions were excellent. The entire crew was just outstanding - friendly, helpful, fun, attentive - just wonderful!

The dining experiences were outstanding - so much from which to choose and the crew was very attentive to a food allergy that one of us had. We really appreciated that.

The included shore excursions were well-designed, and we availed ourselves of some of the optional excursions. For the most part, our guides were exceptional, especially our guide in Cologne and on the Audy Murphy tour. Read more
