Second time on the RCI Canada and New England cruise (first time in 2008 on Grandeur of the Seas). From the beginning...
THE SHIP: Enchantment is not new by any means, but has been well maintained. It's our 5th RCI cruise on five different ships and Enchantment didn't disappoint us. The public spaces were spotless and the wood on the pool deck had just been refinished. Our cabin was in good shape with a few exceptions. The TV was old and was not interactive (such as on the new ships). The front panel was broken off and the remote control battery cover was taped on. Other than that, the room was nice and everything worked fine. The bed was comfy enough. The balcony was great. What a nice way to relax after a long day.
FOOD: I thought the Windjammer Cafe was exceptional, the best I've experienced on any RCI ship. The manager, Haydan Tanyers (from Turkey) is a super guy and worked very hard to accommodate everyone's needs. The food was always fresh, hot and good and the staff very helpful. The My Fair Lady dining room was typical RCI. The food was not spectacular, but tasty. The presentation was nice and the wait staff were very friendly. STAFF: The Captain, Srecko Ban, is a heck of a nice guy. Very professional yet easy going. Definitely the most approachable Captain of any RCI ship I've been on. He's been on Enchantment since 2007 and I can see why he's liked so much. The Cruise Director, Keith Williams, is also a super guy. I chatted with him on several occasions and he's just a fun guy to be around. Don't hesitate to approach him with "special requests" if there is anything he can do to make your cruise more enjoyable.
Cabin 7138. Old TV, broken front, remote held together with tape. Some rust in the bathroom. Other than that, good location (quiet) with a wonderful balcony.
