We went on this cruise to celebrate our friend's 70th b-day, but Covid hit and we ended up celebrating her 72nd b-day. I didn't research the cruise at all so I didn't know what to expect, but I have never heard a bad review for Viking River Cruises before. You won't hear a bad one from me either! We had a simply wonderful time! Portugal is beautiful, the food is delicious, the people are wonderful and the wine is plentiful! What more could you want? I have recommended this cruise to everyone who asks and to those who don't ask too! All the staff was attentive and friendly! It was a great celebration for my friend's b-day and a perfect trip! We enjoyed the whole crew! Marianne, the cruise director, was entertaining and helpful. Captain Diego was proficient, charming and handsome. Edgar could play anything on the piano! The chef recommended great meals and the dining and bar staff were perfect! I have been on several ocean cruises, but this was my first river cruise and it won't be my last! I wish I could go again this year, but I'm all out of vacation!
