We wanted to visit Spain and Portugal and this trip up and down the Douro was perfect! The ship was clean and safe. The crew was well trained and courteous. The food was marvelous. The entertainment was was always spot on. The ship was COVID-19 safe. We had a wonderful time and will continue to travel with Viking! They are the best! The day excursions were well planned and exciting. Viking let’s you know the activity level so you don’t have to do something above your physical limitations. day trips are well planned an allow you to do a morning trip or an evening trip or both depending on the length of each excursion. You’re always back to the boat in time for happy hour! Evening activities always include a summary of the days activities followed by a a review of the next days opportunities. Most day trips include a free excursion plus the opportunity to take an optional extra cost excursion to some ‘special’ place.
