We wanted to visit Budapest because my husband had relatives that immigrated from there during WW II. Austria and Germany were countries we were eager to see, and we added Nuremberg and Prague for the WW II info and the beauty of Prague. The tour guides we had were friendly and knowledgable. The took great care to assure everyone was taken care of and accounted for.
We loved how calm and comfortable the boat journey was. The staff were exceptional and the food was TOO good! We met lovely people along the way. There were many excursion options and we enjoyed those. One of our friends missed her connecting flight from London to Budapest prior to embarkation. I spoke to the staff person at the reception desk and he made phone calls and assured they would be met at the airport in Budapest when they arrived and brought to the boat.
We will definitely cruise with Viking again.
We had a balcony. The room was lovely, but we only utilized the balcony for a short time twice. Too much to do outside the room and the boat deck offers great outside views and seating.
This was a lovely historical city. Our tour guide was a local person who was very knowledgeable and helpful. I learned history that I had not known.
