Chose for the itinerary - Netherlands and Belgium. The shore excursions were selected with a broad range of interests and excellent opportunities for self education. Sometimes we were within walking distance of the town. If not, transportation was comfortable and convenient. Our guides were knowledgeable and often very entertaining. We particularly enjoyed the full day excursion to Floriade which was added to the tours rather late in the planning stages. As this event occurs only once every ten years, it was very special. The ship was spotless with every amenity from shoehorns to shower caps. Often the food was regional so we were able to sample "local" cuisine without leaving the ship. Dinner runs rather late for Americans - often at 7:00 or 7:30 but well worth the wait. Staff and crew were attentive without being salesmen. There is little ship entertainment - a musical performance and a guest lecturer - no movies or TV shows although news channels are provided. After dozens of ocean cruises, this river cruise was a very pleasant revelation. A truly memorable way to travel!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom

Comfortable and spotless. Window is a water level so provides a different river view from higher level cabins. Many amenities provided such as distilled or flat water, shoehorns, umbrellas and 24 hour specialty coffees/teas and cookies.

Please note the elevator services only the middle and upper decks - not the Main deck on the lowest level nor the Sun deck on the highest level. the bed was very comfortable.

Port Reviews

Amsterdam

An amazing city! Take any canal cruise - well worth the price (as low as 10 euros) Cobra Cafe near Rijksmuseum has fabulous ambiance and great sandwiches. Plan on 3-4 hours for the Rijksmuseum - you won't see it all but you'll hit the highlights. Van Gogh museum is a separate visit. Visit the Royal Zoo - the grounds are spectacular. Watch out for the bicycles on all streets!
