This was a fantastic trip of a lifetime. Viking was first class all the way! They had a driver waiting for us in Zurich and drove us to Lucern in a lovely Mercedes van.
Lucern was beautiful! It was immaculate and well-groomed (we saw a man cleaning street signs and another vacuuming the rafters of the historic wooden bridge.)
Our guide Collett was fantastic. She was informative and gave great recommendations for food and places to visit when we were on our own. One such place was Stadtkeller, a dinner, and Swiss folk music show. The food was excellent, and the show was charming with folk music and interactive getting audience members to participate. It was a lot of fun. But, of course, chocolate is king, and they proved it with a chocolate-flowing wall in one of the chocolate shops. The hotel was beautiful and first-class!
What an amazing cabin! We were very comfortable with a large bed and a lovely balcony. I loved that the shower doors both open, making it easier to move around in the bathroom. The large screen tv kept us up to date on-ship activities and information on upcoming ports of call. There was lots of room to hang up our clothes or to put them in drawers.
